Numi Organic Tea

Numi Organic Tea
In the Fall of 1999, brother and sister Ahmed and Reem had a vision-to revive the serenity, creativity, and comfort that is inspired by the simple art of tea. Both artistic souls and world explorers, the two siblings have combined their belief in the transcendental properties of tea with their individual passions for photography, art, and culture. The result of this blend was Numi Tea, a refreshing and innovative selection of teas and teasans that awaken the palate, inspire the soul, and gracefully enhance water's unique potential.

SOURCE
With a passion for people and learning, the Numi Tea'm travels and sources its teas and herbs directly from the gardens of origin ensuring the freshest ingredients of the season's latest pickings. Our teas and herbs are certified ORGANIC, Fair Trade, Kosher and Halal.

FULL LEAF QUALITY
Numi uses only full-leaf tea in their teabags, ensuring a loose-leaf quality tea in every cup. The taste of each tea offers a clean, crisp and long lasting experience. Most tea bags utilize leftover tea dust or fannings that can only be steeped for 30 seconds, otherwise resulting in a bitter taste.

NO OILS OR FLAVORINGS/REAL INGREDIENTS
To create the purest tea on the planet, we use only real fruits, flowers, herbs and spices in our tea bags, without the added oils or flavorings (including “natural flavorings”) common to the market. This creates a naturally pure taste rich in authentic flavor. Other flavored teas in the market spray poor grade tea dust or fannings with an oil or essence. The flavor is usually overpowering and perfumey and masks the true taste of tea. To learn more about oils and flavorings

FRESH PURE HERBS
For Numi's Herbal Teasans, we source fresh pure herbs from all over the world. The herbs are cut to bring out their full flavor. We place more ingredients in each teabag (an average of 2.2 grams vs. the 1.8 grams in standard/conventional teabags).

ORGANIC DECAFFEINATION PROCESS
After searching for a non-toxic organic process, Numi is excited to have full leaf teas that have been decaffeinated using a Super Critical CO2 extraction process sometimes referred to as “Effervescence”. This process is the only chemical-free method that does not extract flavor or health properties. The tea leaves are placed into a pressurized chamber where Carbon Dioxide is pumped. The inert gas then locks onto the caffeine and extracts it. There is currently no other company in the U.S. offering full leaf-grade CO2 decaffeinated organic tea

SUSTAINABILITY
Grateful to the Earth's gifts and with a commitment to sustainability, we use biodegradable and recyclable materials for our packaging

If 10,000 Americans drank a box of Numi Organic Tea, we would save 27 lbs. of pesticides, 239 lbs. of fertilizer, 12 trees, 792 lbs. of landfill and will have contributed $400 to Fair Trade tea gardens.

From the farmer's tea garden, through the packaging and decaffeination process, to the final soothing cup of tea, every step is guided by our devotion to bringing our customers the finest tastes!

Rip open various tea and teasan bags and smell the fresh aromatic scents of our premium ingredients. Steep the flavor of choice and Taste the Numi Difference - a clean, natural tasting cup that tastes like a loose leaf pot of tea or a freshly steeped herb picked from your garden.

Wheat Price Surges Above $10 for First Time on Supply Concerns

Dec. 17 (Bloomberg) -- Wheat rose above $10 a bushel for the first time, bolstering prices for other grains and oilseeds and stoking inflation.

Chicago wheat futures rose as much as 30 cents, or 3.1 percent, to $10.095 as dry weather threatened crops in Argentina, adding to concern the world's farmers may not be able to grow enough to meet demand for bread, pasta and livestock feed. Rice also jumped to a record, while soybeans reached the highest in 34 years and corn was its costliest in nine months.

Kellogg Co., the maker of Frosted Mini-Wheats cereal and Eggo waffles, and General Mills Inc., the maker of Cheerios cereal, already have raised prices. Kikkoman Corp., Japan's biggest maker of soy sauce, is planning its first price increase in 18 years, while Sara Lee Corp. said Dec. 13 it will increase bread prices for a second time since September.
